Governing Council Appoints Sambo as Acting Registrar
The 11th Governing Council of the University of Abuja led by Distinguished Senator Dr Olanrewaju Tejuoso, has approved the appointment of Malam Mohammed Sambo  as Acting Registrar of the institution.

The appointment was made during the 80th Extraordinary Meeting of Council held on Friday 7 November 2025. It takes effect from Tuesday 11 November 2025, and will last for three months.

Sambo succeeds Mrs Roseline Adakayi, who had earlier been appointed in May  2025 for a period of six months.

Until his appointment, Sambo has served in various strategic positions in the University, including most recently as deputy registrar, Council Division.

In line with the University’s governance structure, the newly appointed acting registrar shall be responsible to the vice-chancellor and shall serve as secretary to the University Governing Council.

Congratulating Sambo, the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mathew Adamu, described the appointment as a welcome development that would help consolidate administrative efficiency.

Adamu  charged him to uphold professionalism, integrity, and teamwork “as we continue to work together to lift the  University higher."

The acting vice-chancellor also commended Mrs Roseline Adakayi for her “good work” during her service as acting registrar, noting that her contributions helped to stabilise the system.
