Mal Mohammed Sambo officially assumes duty as the Acting Registrar.
Today, Mal Mohammed Sambo has officially assumed duty as the Acting Registrar of the University, following the completion of the tenure of Mrs Roseline Adakayi, who was appointed to the position six months ago.
Sambo's appointment, approved by the University Council led by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Distinguished Senator Dr Olanrewaju Tejuoso, is for a period of three months, effective from today 11 November 2025.
Handing over the instrument of office to the new acting registrar on the Main Campus, Mrs Roseline Adakayi, represented by Mrs Bintu Otaki-Alanana, expressed appreciation for the cooperation and support she received from the Governing Council, the University management, and the entire University community during her tenure.
Adakayi, who described Sambo as an outstanding administrator with a wealth of experience, expressed confidence that his tenure would further strengthen the Registry Department for improved service delivery. She appealed for full cooperation from Registry staff to support the new acting registrar in addressing the University’s challenges.
In his remarks, the new acting registrar, Sambo, thanked the Governing Council for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work closely with the University management to ensure transparency, due process, and fairness in the processes leading to the appointment of a substantive registrar for the University.
